JP McCann has upped the tempo here and is leveraging his stack to apply pressure on his opponents.

Having taken a couple of small pots, he calls versus Chris Dowling’s open to 12,000, with Shane O’Reilly coming along for the ride in the big blind.

The 7d6c3c flop is checked to McCann, who fired out a bet of 30,000. Only O’Reilly called.

On the Ad turn, O’Reilly is forced to check-fold versus a bet of 200,000 from McCann.

Adrian Thorne opened to 12,000 from the button, and was met with a three-bet to 68,000 from Tomas Geleziunas in the small blind, who had left himself around 60,000 behind.

Action folded back to Thorne, who moved all in with the covering stack, with Geleziunas making the quick call.

Geleziunas was in trouble versus Thorne’s rockets, and he remained behind after the Kd8d2d flop. He picked up chop possibilities on the 4d turn, but the 5s river was a brick, sending Geleziunas to the rail as the first player to depart the final table.

Veaceslav Jumir opened to 16,000 from the button and Tomas Geleziunas defended the big blind.

The 9c6d3d flop was checked through. On the 8c turn, Geleziunas led out with a bet of 35,000, which failed to shake off Jumir.

The 2d river completed the board, and Geleziunas moved all in with the covering stack, sending Jumir into the tank.

After close to three minutes of thought, Jumir made the call. Gelezinuas tabled 7s4s for seven-high, having missed his draw, while Jumir had AdTs, finding a superb river hero call with only ace-high for his tournament life.

Around 165,000 was in the middle on a completed board of KdTd5c2d5d, in a hand between Adrian Thorne in the cutoff and JP McCann in the small blind, the top two at the start of the final table.

McCann led out on the river with a bet of 60,000, and after some thought, Thorne made the call, albeit seemingly reluctantly.

McCann tabled Ad9d for the turned nut flush, and Thorne tapped the table and mucked his hand.

Action folded to Shane O’Reilly in the small blind, who raised to 11,000, with Tomas Gelziunas making the call in the big blind.

The Ac9d2h flop was checked through.

On the 8h turn, O’Reilly led out with a bet of 15,000 and Geleziunas called.

The 7c river completed the board, and O’Reilly checked. Geleziunas took some time to think before moving all in, forcing O’Reilly to fold while flashing Ah. Geleziunas showed QsTc for air and took down the pot.

Nick Newport opened to 10,000 from early position, and was met with a three-bet to 22,000 by JP McCann from the button. Action folded back to Newport, who thought for a bit before four-bet jamming for 95,000. McCann took some time but ultimately made the call with the covering stack.

Newport looked in good shape with the dominating king, and was still ahead after the KhQh5c flop and 8c turn, both players with a pair of kings, but Newport with the better kicker.

However, the Jh rolled off on the river in cruel fashion to give McCann two pair and send Newport to the rail.
